Using social media to drive policy change


We designed and delivered the social media strategy for VCOSS’ Decent not Dodgy Campaign for Liveable Rental Homes.

A Facebook page played an important role in demonstrating public support for the campaign and also helped uncover valuable stories and potential media interview subjects.

It quickly became a vibrant online discussion space around rental conditions and generated its own media stories as politicians and others participated in the page. Engagement levels were high and it quickly surpassed 2,000 likes.
